Our Story
Robert and Marlene Myers, otherwise known as Bob and Marge, have owned and successfully operated the farm since 1995. The farm began on a 2 acre parcel of land that belonged to the Myers’ family and has continued to grow ever since. Today, the farm is comprised of 60 acres for vegetable production and another 20 acres of blueberries.
The farm is a multi-generational family run business. Robert and Marlene’s son Brock Myers, Operations Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the farm overseeing the greenhouse and fieldwork, as well as the maintenance and repair of farm equipment. Their daughter Nicki Myers, Food Safety and Compliance Manager, oversees the implementation and compliance for our GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certification, and Brock’s partner Amanda oversees the farm’s organic certification and other administrative functions.
During the summer months, you’re also likely to find Brock’s daughter Mila helping out on the farm! We couldn’t do what we do without an amazing team of staff members who help to carry out everything from greenhouse and fieldwork to sales, shipping, payroll, and accounting. We’re so excited to be celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2025!
Why Organic?
The healthier and more sustainable choice
Our family started organic farming as a way to provide a healthy and sustainable alternative for future generations. It was important to us to know how our food was being created, and we wanted to make a nutritious product that not only tasted great but was also really good for us.
We wanted to avoid the harsh chemicals and pesticides that are used in conventional farming, and we care about the environment so we wanted to ensure that our farming practices did not cause harm. This means that when we farm, we grow and harvest our products in a way that promotes the quality of the soil. This creates a healthy ecosystem for the land and the environment, and one that is respectful of the natural wildlife that are local to us.
We were one of the first farms to grow and sell organic produce for commercial sales. We really value our partnerships with various wholesalers who help distribute our products to a wide range of stores and retailers – not just in the lower mainland, but to other parts of the province, across Canada, and around the world.
Our farm is also part of Langley Organic Growers (LOG). You can purchase directly from LOG at Farmer’s Markets in Vancouver and Coquitlam during the summer market season and at the Riley Park Winter Market during the winter months.
